Driver Dies After LIRR Train Strikes Car

Yesterday afternoon a driver was killed when his car was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train near the Brentwood station.  The 63-year-old driver was taken to Southside Hospital where he died from his injuries.

An investigation by the LIRR is determining whether the gates were operating properly at the time of the accident.

Having the LIRR perform the only investigation and controlling the evidence at this early stage is a very bad idea.  The family of this man should hire an attorney as soon as possible to make sure evidence is not destroyed or accidentally lost.

Our law firm has handled many accidents involving LIRR trains.  In our experience, we find the initial investigation is usually one to simply cover up or limit the liability of the LIRR.

If you or a loved one has been killed or injured in an accident involving a train, contact Duane Morgan of Morgan Levine Dolan.
