Man Killed by N Train at Times Square Today

A 40-year old man was killed at Times Square earlier today when he was struck by an oncoming subway train.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are many New York City subway train accidents every year which either kill or seriously injure strap hangers.  While some unsuspecting people have been recently pushed on front of trains, others have stood too close to the edge of the platform.  However, many of these accidents can be avoided by the train operators.

There have been many lawsuits in New York City where the train operator and the New York City Transit Authority have been held responsible for striking people who are on the train tracks.  There are many rules and regulations within the Transit Authority which are either not properly followed or completely ignored by train operators.  The results of this negligence is all too often fatal.

Regardless of why the person is on the tracks, it is the responsiblity for the train operator to enter a train station carefully and within a reasonable speed. Investigations into the way the train enters the station and how far away the person is on the tracks from the front of the train usually reveals as train operator did not follow protocal.  This is when you need a lawyer.
