AlyssaMarie Gerbasio, 23, of West Babylon died after she was ejected from her vehicle during a car crash in Lindenhurst, police said. She was likely not wearing a seatbelt, according to officials.
Another driver collided with Gerbasio’s vehicle, police said. A 17-year-old female, whose identity has not been released, was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty east on 49th Street and attempted to cross onto Straight Path when the vehicle collided with Gerbasio’s 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee at 7:12 a.m.
Gerbasio was ejected from the vehicle after the impact. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Liberty was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. She was later released.
For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
