Alleged Drunk Driver Slams Into Car Twice In Long Island

An alleged drunk driver slammed into another vehicle twice on Long Island, according to reports. The incident was recorded by a dash cam video from the struck vehicle.

Linda Spina, 53, of Selden, was allegedly driving while intoxicated along Woodside Avenue in Patchogue when she made a wide right turn onto North Ocean Avenue, officials said. The dash cam video shows Spina’s Honda go over the curb, knock down a sign and crash into the car with the dash cam which was stopped at a traffic light.

A woman, who appears to be an off-duty emergency responder, comes up to the struck car to see if the family inside was hurt, according to the dash cam video. She then yells at Spina several times to “Put your car in park!”

Spina instead drives in reverse but then accelerates forward again and nearly hits the emergency responder before smashing head-on with the struck car for a second time.

Children were in the struck car, however, none of the family members have been identified.

Spina was charged with driving while intoxicated. She was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center. She was arraigned in Central Islip last Friday.
