Driver Crashes Porsche, Kills Friend In Hamptons

A Manhattan developer slammed his Porsche into a utility pole in Sag Harbor, which killed his passenger, authorities said. Police believe the driver, Sean Ludwick, 42, was drunk at the time of the accident. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Realtor Paul Hansen, 53, was in the passenger seat when the accident occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ludwick allegedly left Hansen lying at the scene and kept driving with two flat tires and other damage, officials said. He did not contact the authorities. Police officers stopped Ludwick down the road from the crash and retraced his path to find Hansen, according to reports.

“He was recovered in front of his own house,” sources said. The pole which Ludwick crashed into was at the curb on Rolling Hill Court East, where he, his wife and two sons lived.

Ludwick was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a fatal accident, police said. He may also be slapped with a vehicular homicide charge although that is still pending, police said.

Ludwick was held on a $1 million bond on Monday, police said.
