Felix Coss, a Williamsburg resident was killed by a police van yesterday just blocks from his home. Police say that the 61-year-old was walking north across Broadway at Hooper Street around 4:30 p.m. when a marked police van traveling south on Hooper made a left turn onto Broadway, striking Coss.
An NYPD spokesman confirmed that Coss had the crossing signal in his favor, and that the van was not responding to an emergency.
